Twin Cities Among Best Places
For Women
A new study by the Social Service Research Council has found that
the Twin Cities region is among the best for women to live in.
The study compares differences among the top 25 metropolitan areas in women's education, earnings, marital status, and life expectancy.
Minneapolis/St. Paul comes in at number four. Washington D.C. topped the list.
Boston, San Francisco, and New York City round out the top five.

NEMAA Presents the 17th Annual Art-A-Whirl
Sponsored by the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA), Art-A-Whirl is the largest open-studio tour in the country. It’s a great opportunity to tour private artist studios and galleries, connect with the artists, and purchase original artwork.
Art-A-Whirl takes place annually in Northeast Minneapolis, the third weekend of May. This event is free and open to the public.

Friday, May 18th - 5:00-10:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 19th - Noon-8:00 p.m.
Sunday, May 20th - Noon-5:00 p.m.





Stanley’s Northeast Bar Room is taking to the streets with the addition of a food truck, Stanley’s on Wheels. Stanley’s on Wheels is set to make its first appearance in downtown Minneapolis in mid-April. We’ll be serving-up Stanley’s well known smoked BBQ beef brisket sandwich along with several other favorites including; Reuben sandwich, BBQ beef brisket nachos, soft pretzel sticks with homemade cheese sauce and Oreo brownies for dessert. Thomas Alva Edison High School is the only public high school in northeast Minneapolis.
It was named for American inventor Thomas Alva Edison. The main building was constructed in 1922.
The planning has begun, and the events will take place Homecoming weekend October 4, 5, 6,and 7th, 2012.
Spaghetti Dinner, Homecoming Game, Variety Show, All Class Reunion Social, and Pancake Breakfast are just a few ideas.
